NATURE EDUCATION

One of the primary objectives of Borrowed Planet has been to integrate environment-based learning with school curricula and create ecologically conscious citizens from a young age. Through walking trails, birdwatching, and nature-based talks, we hope to strengthen connections between people and the natural world.

Dev has been conducting presentations in schools and interacting with teachers and educators to raise awareness of the threats to our environment. To reach a wider audience, he has been involved in nature-writing for newsletters and online magazines. His poem Call of the Wild, recounting a tiger safari in India, recently won Honorable Mention in the Rachel Carson Intergenerational Sense of Wonder/Sense of the Wild Contest.

Furthermore, by donating copies of Our Threatened Kin – Fur, Feather & Fin to schools, educators and libraries, we hope to draw the attention of our youth towards the protection of ā€˜at-risk’ species and their vital role in our ecosystem. The book is in over 50 school libraries across India and is finding its place abroad as well.
